Scholarship Service Program
Departments
The
departments listed below participated in the Scholarship Service Program during
the 2007-2008 academic year. A brief description of typical tasks and
assignments is listed for each department. Service hours must generally be
completed during normal office hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Please visit the SSP
website at
http://scholarships.web.mtsu.edu/ssp.htm
for more information about the Scholarship Service Program.
Q: If a department is listed, does
that mean they will accept new students this year?
A:
Please note that inclusion on this list does not guarantee that a department
will have positions available in a given year. Availability depends on the
number of students requested by the department, as well as the number of
students returning to the department from the prior semester. Generally,
departments which use only a small number of students will have few or no
positions available for new students.
Q: How do I request a particular
department?
A:
You may request up to four departments by adding your top choices to your
scholarship agreement form. If you wish to add to or change your request after
submitting the form, please contact me at
bmccarty@mtsu.edu. Be sure to
include your name, MTSU ID number, and details of the change you wish to make.
All requests must be made by May 31. We cannot guarantee that you will be placed
in a requested department, though we are generally able to meet 80% of all
requests; you can increase your chance of being approved if you request four
departments and make sure at least one accepts a large number of students (see
below).
